Commercial Kitchen Vent Hoods

Under-makeup-aired hoods are the number-one reason kitchens get smoke complaints and fail their CO tests. We size, install, and service kitchen ventilation that passes inspection and actually clears the air.

We install, replace, and service commercial cooking hoods for restaurants, school cafeterias, ghost kitchens, and concession stands — Type I grease hoods and Type II steam/heat hoods, with exhaust fans and the make-up air to balance them.

Make-up air is where most kitchens get it wrong. An exhaust hood that pulls more air than the building can replace causes back-drafting, smoke complaints, slamming doors, and failed combustion tests. We size make-up air to the actual exhaust CFM so your kitchen runs clean and comfortable.

We design to NFPA 96, the International Mechanical Code, and your local health and fire AHJ, and we coordinate with your fire-suppression contractor and inspector so you pass the first time. Brands include Captive-Aire, Greenheck, Vent-A-Hood, and Halton.

Questions

Kitchen Vent Hoods FAQ

Yes — we design to NFPA 96, the IMC, and your local AHJ, and we coordinate with your fire-suppression contractor so you pass inspection the first time.

Almost always insufficient make-up air. If the hood exhausts more than the building can replace, smoke spills out instead of going up. We re-balance or add make-up air to fix it.
